2009-2013: Worked on the main physiology, neuropharmacology of female sexual response, investigated the characteristics of expanded sexual response (ESR), made nationwide and global surveys on ESR. Worked on the neuropharmacology of female orgasm and oxytocin.

2002-2008: Worked on the effects of psychoactive drugs on animal models (such as salvia divinorum). Also worked on national and world wide drug abuse problems, drug marketing through internet.  Joined a U.N. project on National Survey of Drug Abuse.

1997-2002: Worked as an independent scientist on experimental epilepsy, long term effects of febrile convulsions and neonatal epilepsy on adulthood, synaptic plasticity induced by opiates in hippocampus.

1994-1997: Worked with Dr. Rutecki and Dr. Sutula on experimental models of epilepsy ( kindling, kainic acid, PTZ and pilocarpine models),  cellular mechanisms of epilepsy,  intracellular and extracellular (in vivo and in vitro) recordings in hippocampus (voltage and current clamp techniques in CA3 pyramidal and dentate granule  cells in vitro) at the Dept. of Neurology, University of Wisconsin, Madison.

In 1992: Worked with Dr. Jane Mellanby at the Dept. of Experimental Psychology, Oxford/England on tetanus toxin model of epilepsy; GAD activity in epilepsy; paired pulse inhibition, extracellular recordings in vivo.

In 1992: Worked with Prof. Dr. Ben Westerink on the microdialysis technique at the Dept. of Medicinal Chemistry,  Faculty of Pharmacy,  Groningen/Netherlands. Worked on glutamatergic and GABAergic changes in substantia nigra and striatum during seizures and under the effects of some antiepileptic drugs.

1990-1992: Worked with Prof Dr. Hikmet Koyuncuoglu on opiate addiction and physical dependence, at the Dept. of Pharmacology, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.

1989-1990: Worked with Dr. Robert Adamec on rat kindling , CRF and its effects on behavior, animal models of anxiety and depression  at the Dept. Psychology, University of  Newfoundland in St. John's \ Canada.

1987-1989: Worked on kindling in cats and experimental epilepsy (MES and Pentylenetetrazol seizures).

1986: Worked with Prof. Dr. Tuncer Özkan at the Dept. of Psychiatry of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.

•Effects of opiates on synaptic plasticity in hippocampus.
•Extracellular field potential recordings in vitro and in vivo; paired pulse recordings to assess GABAergic inhibition or excitation/inhibition balance [extracellular and intracellular]; intracellular recordings and voltage clamp in vitro  (dentate gyrus and CA3, hippocampal slices).
•Pilocarpine model of epilepsy, paired pulse technique in hippocampal slices in vitro and in vivo. In vitro electrophysiology studies in the hippocampal slices of rats undergone status epilepticus.
•Kainic acid model of epilepsy, electrophysiological studies in the hippocampal slices of kainic acid treated rats and biocytin injection.
•Metabotropic glutamate receptors and epileptogenesis.
•LTP (Long term potentiation).
•Kindling model of epilepsy.
•Kindling model and its effects on behavior.

•Epilepsy models by pentetrazol, picrotoxin, bicuculline, pilocarpine (and others) and investigating the effects of antiepileptics in these models.
