As we have seen, fetishism is a matter of degree, and the range of its possible objects is so wide as to be practically limitless. This means, conversely, that it impossible to gather all fetishists in a single, large movement. Nevertheless, some leather, rubber, and latex fetishists, as well as several others, have found themselves to be numerous enough to organize as sexual minorities with their own bars and clubs, local, regional, and national organizations, newsletters, web sites, specialty shops, and international conferences. Thus, they are forming subcultures of their own which, in some cases, influence the tastes of the general public by setting trends in advertising and in the world of fashion.
