Lingam and Yoni This ancient Indian religious symbol shows the joining of the male sex organ (lingam) with the female sex organ (yoni). It is found in many Hindu temples where this union of the male and female is worshipped as an image of the inexhaustible cosmic life force.

The modern concept of
"sexual
behavior" reflects a scientific view of the world and of human activities. It was unknown in ancient and medieval times, and it is still unknown today in “pre-modern” societies.
