Sexual Minorities: 5. Sadomasochists

There is some overlap between the minorities of leather fetishists and sadomasochists. Many women and men are interested in both types of sexual variation. Consequently, some organized groups cater to both camps. However, there are also organizations specifically devoted to “Bondage and Discipline” (BD) and “S/M” (sadomasochism). They have their own web sites or journals and newsletters, and many also hold local, national, and international meetings. Some try to educate the general public about their aims and activities; others concentrate on informing their members and offering them appropriate meeting places.
