性行為的基本類型

在阿爾弗雷德 C. 金西（Alfred C. Kinsey）兩部不朽的人類性行為著作裏，他與同事對這個研究課題使用了非常實用的區分方法。他們發明了7級等級量表（從0-6級分類），在總人口中度量異性與同性性體驗的分佈狀態。在這個尺規的一極（分類0級），他們歸類為專有異性性體驗的行為人群類型；而在另一極（即分類的6級），則歸類為專有同性性體驗的行為人群類型。在這兩極之間（1-5類分級）則是在其一生中既有異性性體驗也有同性性體驗的人群類型。以下圖表概括了金西的這種基礎研究成果。

3. Homosexual Intercourse

The Kinsey Scale

In their two monumental studies on human sexual behavior, Alfred C. Kinsey and his associates used a very practical method of clarifying the matter. They devised a seven-point rating scale (with categories ranging from 0 to 6) which measured the balance of heterosexual and homosexual experiences in the population as a whole. At the one end of this scale (in category 0), they placed those whose experiences were exclusively heterosexual, and at the other end (in category 6) they placed those whose experiences were exclusively homosexual. Between these two extremes were those who, in the course of their lives, had both heterosexual and homosexual experiences in various degrees (categories 1-5). Kinsey’s basic findings are summarized in this scale:
