妊娠期性行為
妊娠期間，一些孕婦喜歡有更多的性行為，而其他孕婦願意減少性行為。一般而言，許多孕婦在妊娠的第4-6月期間性欲似乎有增強；而在妊娠的最後3個月性欲減弱得非常明顯。
在妊娠的任何時期，孕婦是否應該有性行為當然極大地有賴於其自身的感受。從純醫學的觀點看，除了醫生明確地勸阻的情形以外，在任何時候都沒有理由為什麼不應該有性行為。
只有在下列情形之下，醫生才會勸阻妊娠期間的性行為： |

1.如果性行為導致陰道或腹部疼痛；
2.如果子宮有任何的出血現象；
3.當羊膜已經破裂時(詳情請見“分娩”)；
4.在性高潮的時候，如果由於子宮的收縮有流產或早產的危險時。(在後一種例子裏，與達到性高潮沒有多大的區別。換句話說，也必須避免手淫。) |

有人也提出，在妊娠期間向陰道內吹氣可能導致胎兒和孕婦的嚴重傷害。鑒於此，在妊娠期間進行口交(cunnilinctus，Syn.cunnilingus)也可能是失策之舉。上述每一個案例，醫生的忠告應該是基於個體的具體情形提出來的（而不能一概而論——譯者注），而且應該是針對性伴侶雙方的忠告。
隨著妊娠的進展，孕婦突出的腹部使得在某些體位的性交不舒適，甚至於不能完成性交。男上位的性交因此不得不排除在外。雙方的側位、男後位或女上位可能更合適和更愜意。記住這一點也許是有用的，那就是性交在許多可能的性行為方式中只是其中的一種，而且其他做愛的方式至少能夠足以暫時替代性交。 |

Sexual Intercourse During Pregnancy
During pregnancy, some women like to have more sexual intercourse while some others would prefer less. Generally speaking, it seems that many women experience an increase in sexual desire during the second trimester of their pregnancy. This desire may then very well diminish during the last trimester.
Whether a woman should have sexual intercourse at any stage of the pregnancy depends, of course, very much
ongner personal feelings. From a purely medical point of view, there is no reason why sexual intercourse should not take place at any time except when explicitly discouraged by a doctor.
Usually, he will advise against it only under the following circumstances: |

1. if it causes vaginal or abdominal pain,
2. if there is any uterine bleeding,
3. when the membranes have ruptured (for details, see "Birth"), and
4. if there is a danger of miscarriage or premature birth due to uterine contractions during orgasm. (In this latter case, it does not make any difference how the orgasm is reached. In other words, masturbation must also be avoided.) |

It has also been suggested that air blown into the vagina during pregnancy may cause serious damage to both the fetus and the woman. For this reason, a certain kind of oral intercourse
(cunnilinctus,Syn.cunnilingus) may also be inadvisable during this time. In each of the above cases, the doctor's advice should be based on the individual situation, and it should be explained to both sexual partners.
As the pregnancy progresses, the woman's protruding abdomen makes sexual intercourse in certain positions uncomfortable and even impossible. Coitus with the man lying on top of the woman may thus have to be ruled out. A side position for both partners, and positions with the man behind the woman, or the woman sitting on top of the man may be more appropriate and enjoyable. It may also be useful to remember that coitus is only one among many possible forms of sexual intercourse, and that, at least for
a while, other kinds of lovemaking can be adequate substitutes. |
