術語“流產”（abortion）
即可指非故意終止早期妊娠，也可指故意終止早期妊娠。如果非故意終止妊娠發生在妊娠前4個月，則稱為流產（abortion）；4個月以後者，則通常稱為自然流產（miscarriage）。可是，在日常生活的非醫學語言裏，“流產”（abortion）這個詞語常常意指故意終止非意願妊娠。這始終既是一個醫學問題也是一個道德問題。
Abortion
The term "abortion" can be used for both the unintentional and the intentional premature termination of a pregnancy. The unintentional termination of a pregnancy is called abortion if it occurs within the first 4 months; after that time, it is usually called miscarriage. In the non-medical language of everyday life, however, the word "abortion" most often means the intentional termination of an unwanted pregnancy. This has always been both
a medical and a moral problem.
