性與生殖
|
人類通過有性生殖繁殖，也就是通過男女特殊的性交形式產生後代。男女性器官能夠容易地交接，而且如果男女雙方達到性成熟，這種交接（稱為交配或交媾）為女性的性細胞（卵子）和男性的性細胞（精子）的融合提供了機會。這種融合產生了可以在女性體內發育成新的人類個體的新細胞。

從前，在男女之間的人類生殖與性交非常緊密地鉸鏈在一起。但是，現代科學已經松解了這根鏈條，現今，有性交而無生殖和有生殖而無性交比以往變得更加容易。

Human life is reproduced sexually, i.e. through a special form of sexual intercourse between women and men. The sex organs of females and males can easily be joined together, and, if they are sexually mature, such a joining (called copulation or coitus) provides an opportunity for the female sex cell (egg) and one male sex cell (sperm) to unite. This union results in a new cell which may grow inside the woman into a new human being.
