擴宮刮宮流產術
擴宮刮宮流產術為一較早的技術，簡稱“D和C”（中國大陸簡稱：鉗刮術——譯者注），其工作原理與負壓吸引流產術不太相同。它常常用於自發性流產或早期引產，以確保不再有胎兒組織殘留於子宮。同理，子宮頸被擴張，可是沒有吸管也沒有真空泵。整個手術手動操作。有一個帶挖刮用的湯匙樣外科手術器械，叫刮宮器。醫生使用刮宮器從子宮壁把胚胎組織和胎盤搔刮下來。

Dilation and Curettage(D&C)
The older technique of “dilation and curettage”, also known simply as "D & C," is in principle not too different from the suction method. It is also often used after a spontaneous abortion or early miscarriage in order to ensure that no fetal tissue remains inside the uterus. Again, the cervix is dilated. However, there is no tube and no vacuum pump. Instead, the entire operation is performed by hand. A surgical instrument with a hollowed out, spoon-like tip is inserted into the uterus. This instrument is called a 刮宮器（curette）. The doctor uses it to scrape the embryo and placenta from the uterine wall.
