1. What is it? Granuloma inguinale is a bacterial infection transmitted by sexual contact. The disease is rare in most parts of the world, but common in Brazil, India, Australia, New Guinea, and Southern Africa.
2. What causes it? Granuloma Inguinale is caused by the tiny organism calymmatobacterium granulomatis.
3. How is it transmitted? The disease is transmitted through vaginal, oral, and anal sexual contact. In its early stages, the symptoms are easily overlooked. Therefore, infected persons can spread it unknowingly.
