卵子与精子

人的生命是有性生殖而来的，也就是通过两性不同个体——男性与女性的结合。为了生殖后代，男性和女性必须达到性成熟，也就是他们的身体必须已经发育到产生性细胞（配子）的程度：在女性，其结果是每月产生一枚成熟的卵细胞；在男性则每日产生数百万个精子。

Egg and Sperm

Human life is reproduced sexually, i.e., by the combined effort of two individuals of different sex: a male and a female. In order to reproduce, both the male and the female must be sexually mature, i.e., their bodies must have developed to the point where they produce sex cells (gametes): In the female, as a rule, one mature egg cell per month; in the male, millions of sperm cells daily.
