The existing general rights declarations can very well be helpful to intersexual persons in contesting discriminatory practices wherever they exist, either on the local, national, or international level. In fact, following an international trend, many legislatures have now passed various civil rights and anti-discrimination laws which, if necessary, can be expanded to include intersexes.
The following examples show some possible starting points for a future discussion. They also indicate the direction in which this discussion is likely to move.
