Sexual Malformations

5.3 SEXUAL MALFORMATIONS

Most people take the healthy development and functioning of their bodies for granted. They usually do not see a doctor until they experience some illness or breakdown in familiar bodily functions. This is, of course, also true in the area of sex. However, there are some persons who are burn with certain sexual deformities and handicaps which require medical treatment before any satisfactory sexual activity can even begin. Such a handicap may be due to chromosomal or hormonal anomalies, and it may involve the internal or external sex organs, or both. These anomalies can result in a number of problematic conditions, which sometimes have been conveniently grouped together as "sex errors of the body", and most of them do not have to be considered here. Fortunately, today many of them can be corrected by proper treatment, just like other physical handicaps. Two of the most obvious sexual malformations are discussed in the following paragraphs.
