Prof. Haeberle
founded the Archive for Sexology in 1994 as a sub-unit inside the federal Robert Koch Institute, using his own private library and collections as a material base. The Archive was first housed in a two-story building in Berlin-Spandau, Flankenschanze 48. It then moved twice to ever larger quarters, first to Berlin-Mitte, Hannoversche Str. 27, (campus of the Charité, the medical school of Humboldt University) and then to Berlin-Pankow, Prenzlauer Promenade 149-152. In 2004, the printed part of the Archive was donated to the library of Humboldt University. In the summer of 2006, it moved back to Berlin-Mitte, Hessische Str. 1. Since October 2009, it has been housed in the centrally located new library building: Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum, Geschwister-Scholl-Str. 1, 10117 Berlin.
