Male heterosexual prostitutes generally fall into two major categories
- Men “on call” (call boys and escorts), and
- Short-term lovers
In many respects, heterosexual and homosexual male prostitution are similar. However, as we shall see, there are some significant differences. On the whole, males who sell their sexual services to females do not experience the same degree of stigmatization. For many of them it is only a part-time occupation. They rarely feel degraded and also find it easier to end their careers as prostitutes.
