The first scientific congress on the subject was held in Berlin in 1990 (“Bisexualities”). It examined the issue from the perspectives of different academic disciplines, for example from those of history and biology. In the meantime, the basic findings of this congress have been widely accepted and put into practice, especially in the area of STD/AIDS prevention.
