Problems of Orgasm

The Treatment of Sexual Dysfunctions - Sex Therapy

The “Classic” Dysfunctions - The Treatment of Male Sexual Dysfunctions

Problems of Orgasm
Both females and males may experience problems of orgasm. They may have difficulties timing it to their mutual satisfaction or they may be unable to reach orgasm at all. However, some of these problems are more common in one sex than in the other.

For example, few men have problems reaching orgasm, but many women do. On the other hand, many men have problems delaying their orgasms long enough for the satisfaction of their female partners. For women, early orgasms are never a problem because many of them are capable of multiple orgasms during a single act of intercourse. Thus, early orgasms never pose a problem for women but often for men. Conversely, late orgasms are rarely a problem for men but often for women.

The following sections discuss orgasmic dysfunctions and their treatment in relation to men.
