Problems of
Orgasm - Absence of Orgasm |

There are some men
who have difficulty reaching orgasm in
sexual intercourse, but the problem is
much more common among women. While most
men easily reach orgasm, many women find
it difficult to achieve this simple
goal. Some do reach it, even regularly,
only after many years of intercourse.
Others cannot reach it in vaginal
intercourse, but have no problem when
stimulated by hand. Still others
eventually adjust to enjoying the
excitement and plateau phases of their
sexual response, thus finding their own
version of sexual satisfaction. Still,
many of these women can
be helped
by sex therapy. Indeed, some feminists
have gone so far as to imply that every
woman can potentially reach orgasm and
therefore have generally spoken of
"preorgasmic” women. However, this
is unwise, because it puts an additional
burden on some women, who remain
anorgasmic after all. It is like calling
the poor milkman Tevye "pre-rich". It is
simply unfair. Some poor people do
become rich, but not all. |
