Inter-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI): A Brave New World? As welcome as the modern reproductive technology is to many infertile women and women today, it has a worrisome aspect. If perfected even further, it could, in the future, create a "brave new world" of selective reproduction. That is to say, prospective parents dreaming of the ideal child might become able to select donor eggs and donor sperm at will for "desired" genetic qualities, even if they themselves do not possess them. Fertility clinics, hoping to increase their income, could make ever bolder attempts at genetic engineering, trying to create the ever more perfect human being - a nightmarish enterprise open to all kinds of abuse.
