Methods of Overcoming Infertility

Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART)
"Assisted Reproductive Technology" is a general term referring to all procedures involving the temporary removal of an egg from the woman's body for fertilization. The best known of these are
"in vitro fertilization" (IVF) and "Inter-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection" (ICSI). In both cases, one or more mature eggs are fertilized outside the female body and then re-inserted using some new medical technology. These techniques are used in very difficult cases of infertility when simpler procedures have proved unsuccessful.
