Sex - Basic Aspects of Human Sexuality

A Spectrum of Variations When looking at the three basic aspects of human sexuality, we notice that, going from 1 to 3, the spectrum of possible variations widens, the size of the respective exceptions or minorities seems to increase: The number of exceptions is small under 1 (biological sex), because there are only few intersexes. It is somewhat larger under 2 (gender), because there are relatively more transvestites and transsexuals. The number is still larger under 3 (sexual orientation), because there are even more bisexuals and homosexuals.
