看一看人類性的3個基本層面我們注意到，從第1層面到第3層面，多種多樣可能的性向譜在擴大，而且各自的例外例子或性少數會增加：

• 在性的第1層面（生物的性）下，例外數量最少，因為兩性畸形非常少。
• 在性的第2層面（性別）下，例外的數量較大，因為有相對比較多的異裝癖者和易性癖者。
• 在性的第3層面（性取向）下，例外的數量仍然較大，以為雙性戀者和同性戀者甚至於更多。

When looking at the three basic aspects of human sexuality, we notice that, going from 1 to 3, the spectrum of possible variations widens and the size of the respective exceptions or minorities increases:

• The number of exceptions is the smallest under 1 (biological sex),
  because there are only very few intersexes.
• It is larger under 2 (gender),
  because there are relatively more transvestites and transsexuals.
• The number is still larger under 3 (sexual orientation),
  because there are even more bisexuals and homosexuals.
