- On September 11, Prof. Haeberle was visited by the Philippine film and televison director Joyce Bernal and her assistant director Irene Emma Villamor, who had been filming in the Netherlands. They discussed the increasingly frank airing of sexual problems in Filipino TV dramas and “reality shows”. Some of these productions can also be freely accessed in the US and Europe. (Our own Archive has many readers in the Philippines.) The discussion led to an exchange of ideas about “open access” in general and its implications for theatrical films.
