September 2008: A Visitor from Egypt

On Sept. 27. and Sept. 30. Prof. Haeberle was visited by the Egyptian best-selling author Dr. Alaa Al Aswany (The Yacoubian Building, Chicago, Friendly Fire). He came to Berlin as a guest of the 8th Berlin International Literature Festival, but used this occasion to express his interest in our online courses on sexual health. As a novelist,  Dr. Al Aswany is known for skillfully suggesting the direct and indirect influences of the social environment on the sexual attitudes of his characters. He was therefore intrigued by the morally neutral description of human sexual behavior now common in sexology and as evident in our courses.
