August/September 1999: Trip to China

During this latest trip, Prof. Haeberle gave lectures, seminars, and workshops in Hong Kong, Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Hefei, Fuyang, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou on the following subjects: 1. Live Demonstrations of our Archive Website (also of its CD ROM version), 2. The History and Future of Sexual Rights, 3. The History of Sexology, 4. Sexual Dysfunctions and their Treatment, 5. The Prevention of AIDS and Other STDs.

The interest in serious sexological information has been growing steadily in China over the last decade, and thus Prof. Haeberle received many offers for closer institutional links and future cooperation. Following up on these offers will be a rewarding task for the next weeks, months, and years. The randomly chosen illustrations below document some activities during this trip.

1. World Congress of Sexology in Hong Kong 1999: Cover of Directory edited by E. Coleman and E. J. Haeberle and given to every congress participant. The 239-page directory contains, as print-outs from our website, the following sections: The History of Sexology, Chronology of Sex Research, World-wide Directory.	2. World Congress of Sexology 1999: Reception of congress organizers and keynote speakers at Government House by Hong Kong's "first lady" Mrs. Betty Tung, wife of Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa.
