    C) Clinical Family Planning Training

    Admission requirements:

    A)
    Male Nurses
    Community Health Workers (e.g. CHO's CHEWS etc.)
    Company Educators/ Motivators

    Trained F.P. sevice providers requiring refresher course
    Counsellors.

    C)
    Qualified Medical Doctors
    Registered Nurse/ Midwives or Registered Midwives
    Male Nurses.

    Overview of the male and female reproductive system
    Population dynamics: the impact of population growth on development
    Interpersonal communication and sounselling
    Modern and traditional FP methods
    Adolescent reproductive health
    Male Involvement in FP
    STD/AIDS
    Women and Development
    Field trip to MCH and FP Clinics
    The PPFN outreach training manual can be adapted to suit the needs of this cadre of trainees.

    Introduction to Interpersonal Communication and Sounselling
    Perception: Values clarification, Rumors and Misconceptions
    Verbal and Nonverbal Communication
    Interviewing and Listening Skills
    Helping Clients make a Decision
    The use of Materials
    Special Needs and Counselling

    Anatomy an Physiology of the male and female reproductive systems

    Counselling consideration for effective use of long term and permanent methods
    Modern and traditional methods of contraception
    Infection Prevention in FP sevice delivery
    Interpersonal communication and counselling skills
    Adolescent reproductive Health sevices
    Population Dynamics: The impact of population on development and quality of life
    STD/AIDS
    Recognition and management of Gynecological pathology and side effects of contraceptives
    Infertility in males and females
    Quality of care in Family Planning Services
    Men involvement in Family Planning Practice
    Contraceptive Technology Update
    Ancillary Services in Family Planning (HVS, Pap Smear, Pregnancy, Testing)
    Family Planning in Occupational Health Services.

    Visit to Clinic

    B)

    C)

    Visits to infant Welfare Clinic, Ante-natal, Post-natal clinic and market places, for motivation and referral.
    Trainees must witness:
     
    2 IUD Insertions
     
    2 Diaphgram fittings
     
    2 Counselling/screening for pills and injectables
    Trainees must conduct:
     
    20 IUD Insertions
     
    5 IUD Removals
     
    2 Diaphgram fittings (where clients are available)
     
    20 Counselling/screening for pills and injectables respectively
     
    Serve 10 clients with condom and foaming tablets respectively.

    written examination:

    A) Trainees must at least score 60 %
    C) Trainees must score at least 60 & at least 20 IUCD insertions to be done.

    C) F.P. General Certificate and IUCD insertions Certificates.
